The Department of Agronomy was established as with establishment of College of Agriculture, Golegaon in 2012. Agronomy is the major discipline at the University in terms of faculty education, research and infrastructural facilities.

The major functions of Department are:

1. Monitor the Undergraduate instructions.
2. Study the different crops through Crop cafeteria for graduate students and academic staff members.
3. Planning monitoring and review of need based location specific agronomic study in the college.
4. To know-how about Extension education in resource management and transfer of technology.
5. To study the Seed production programme of various crops.

Course curriculum:

The Under Graduate Programme in Agronomy Department was initiated during the year 2012 as offered by College of Agriculture, Golegaon. The Agronomy Department offers 35 credits for B.Sc. (Agriculture). Under Graduate syllabus is modified and 42 credits in eight semesters will be offered as per Fifth Dean’s Committee Report.
